Yoga and Meditation Tour

Yoga and Meditation Tour What is yoga & Mediation?

Body, Mind, and Soul

The word yoga comes from Sanskrit. It means to join, to unite, to balance. It is said that yoga was created thousands years ago, both in India and in Nepal, by wise men for harmonizing their body and their mind. Nowadays yoga is adjusting to the modern times and facilities.

In India, Swami Ram Dev has nicely added the aerobic techniques to the classical yoga postures called “asanas” and to the yoga breathing called “Pranayama”. He is training thousand people together, and healing many diseases. His yoga program is spread worldwide by Television, including Nepal.

The Yoga and Trekking Program combines two of Nepal 's most distinct traditions. Introducing yoga into the trekking experience allows for a richer appreciation of the physical and mental landscape as the body and mind are opened through daily meditation, yoga, massage, and trekking.

The combination of these elements creates a more fulfilling physical exercise while strengthening and opening the mind for greater relaxation and awareness… all within the beautiful natural environment provided by the Himalayas. The program is open for all experience levels and ages and is a unique opportunity for those interested in the strengthening of both the body and mind.

Adrift adventures organizing propose a New and unique trekking package in the Himalayas, with yoga training for every trekking day. Yoga is a natural way to acclimatize faster in the Himalayas. A daily morning Himalayan yoga activates the energy before trekking. The easy adapted Pranayama exercises used during the trek make the breathing more comfortable, especially for the trekkers who are not used to the high mountains. The evening stretching exercises and postures, after trekking, helps to eliminate the tenses and the toxins generated by trekking. After stretching, relaxation and meditation prepare a better sleep.
