The area is dominated by the presence of such peaks and mountains e.g. the Annapurna Ranges, Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, and Machhapuchre etc. These mountains loom in the distance throughout your trek, giving you a true Himalayan experience and lots of enjoyment. Trekking through the lowland villages and mountain communities will expose you to the variety of different cultures of the Gurung, Magars, Manangi, Thakali people and other local ethnic groups.

The Annapurna Sanctuary Trek is a trek in the Annapurna region which commonly starts or finishes in either Phedi or Nayapul and reaches the Annapurna Base Camp.Take a bus to either Phedi or Nayapul. There are a myriad of trails that traverse the Annapurna and lead to Chomrong from where there is only one path up to Annapurna Base Camp. Nayapul is marked by a collection of road side shacks that function as bus/taxi stop backed by a slightly more substantial village that has a jeep track through the middle of it. 

Outline Itinerary

  • Day 01: Drive from Kathmandu (1,350M/4,429 ft) to Pokhara (820M/2,788ft), 7/8 hrs or 25 minutes flight in option, (Hotel + B),
  • Day 02: Drive from Pokhara to Phedi (1,130 M/3,707ft), 1 hrs and trek to Ghandruk (1940 M/6,364ft), 4-5 hrs, (Teahouse-Lodge + B-L-D),
  • Day 03: Trek from Ghandruk to Chhomrong (2,170 M/7,119ft), 5-6 hrs, (Teahouse-Lodge + B-L-D),
  • Day 04: Trek from Chhomrong to Dovan (2,580 M/8,464ft), 6-7 hrs, (Teahouse-Lodge + B-L-D),
  • Day 05: Trek from Doban to Deurali (3,230 M/7,644ft), 4-5 hrs, (Teahouse-Lodge + B-L-D),
  • Day 06: Trek from Deurali to Machhapuchhre Base Camp (3,700 M/12,139ft), 3-4 hrs, (Teahouse-Lodge + B-L-D),
  • Day 07: Trek from Machhapuchhre Base Camp to Annapurna Base Camp (4,130 M/13,549ft), 3-4 hrs, (Teahouse-Lodge + B-L-D),
  • Day 08: Trek from Annapurna Base Camp to Bamboo (2,310M/7,578ft), 6-7 hrs, (Teahouse-Lodge + B-L-D),
  • Day 09: Trek from Bamboo to Jhinu Dada (1,780 M/5,839ft), 5-6 hrs, (Teahouse-Lodge + B-L-D),
  • Day 10: Trek from Jhinudada to Australian Camp (1850 M/6,069ft), (Teahouse-Lodge + B-L-D),
  • Day 11: Trek from Australian Camp to Sarankot (1592 M/5,223ft), 2-3 hrs and drive to Pokhara (850M/2,788ft), 45 minutes,
  • Day 12: Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu (1,350 M/4,429ft), 7-8 hrs or 25 minutes flight in option, (Hotel + B).
