Annapurna trekking region in Nepal has been recognized as paradise. Annapurna trekking region is a very popular area that offers a dramatic trekking experience for trekkers from all over the world. Trekking in the Annapurna region is one of the most famous and popular destinations of Nepal. This area is dominated by the presence of such peaks and mountains e.g. the Annapurna Ranges, Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, and Machhapuchre, etc. These mountains loom in the distance throughout your trek, giving you a true Himalayan experience and lots of enjoyment. Trekking through the lowland villages and mountain communities will expose you to the variety of different cultures of the Gurung, Magars, Manangi, Thakali people and other local ethnic groups.

The Annapurna Sanctuary Trek is a trek in the Annapurna region which commonly starts or finishes in either Phedi or Nayapul and reaches the Annapurna Base Camp. Take a bus to either Phedi or Nayapul. There is a myriad of trails that traverse the Annapurna and lead to Chomrong from where there is only one path up to Annapurna Base Camp. Nayapul is marked by a collection of roadside shacks that function as bus/taxi stop backed by a slightly more substantial village that has a jeep track through the middle of it.

  • Day 01: Drive from Kathmandu (1,350 M/4,429ft) to Pokhara (850m/2,788ft), 7-8 hrs or 25 minutes flight in option, (Lodging + B),
  • Day 02: Drive from Pokhara to Naya Pool (1,070M/3,510ft), 1-2 hrs drive and trek to Tikhedhunga (1080 m), 3-4 hrs, (Lodging + B-L-D),

Detail Itineraries

  • Day 01Drive from Kathmandu (1,350 M/4,429ft) to Pokhara (850m/2,788ft), 7-8 hrs or 25 minutes flight in option, (Lodging + B),Takes 6-7 hour drive and 30 minute by fly and transfer to hotel for overnight. At hotel in Pokhara be refresh, rest or free for personal activities or visit the Lakeside downtown market. Overnight stay in Pokhara.
  • Day 02Drive from Pokhara to Naya Pool (1,070M/3,510ft), 1-2 hrs drive and trek to Tikhedhunga (1080 m), 3-4 hrs, (Lodging + B-L-D),After Breakfast, we drive to NayaPul 1 hr 20 minutes and we drive to Nayapool and start the trek From Birethanti. We trek toTrikhedhunga which is a beautiful village mostly inhabited by the Gurung community.

  • Day 03Trek from Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani (2,860 M/9,383ft), 6-7 hrs, (Lodging + B-L-D),After early morning breakfast, We start our trek and climb up the trail towards Ghorepani. On the way, we can enjoy beautiful views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Fishtail Mountain (Machhapuchhre) and Ganggapurna. Ghorepani is a beautiful village located on the base of the giant Annapurna and Dhaulagiri massif.
  • Day 04Early Morning hike up to Poon Hill (3,210M/10,531ft) and trek to Tadapani (2,630 M/8,628FT), 6-7 hrs, (Lodging + B-L-D),Early in the morning, we set up to Poon Hill viewpoint for the amazing sunrise views. We then return back to hotel, have breakfast and continue our walkthrough silent rhododendron forest towards Tadapani. The views of Annapurna III, Gangapurna, Machhapuchhre, and Hiunchuli will really attract you.
  • Day 05 Trek from Tadapani to Chhomrong (2,170 M/7,119ft), 6-7 hrs, (Lodging + B-L-D),We start our trek gently through a inclined trail down to riverside then later this trail goes over to the mountain side. We trek from Tadapani to Chhomrong village, which is situated at lap of Annapurna South and Hiunchuli mountains.
  • Day 06Trek from Chhomrong to Himalaya Hotel (2,929 M/9,609ft), 5-6 hrs, (Lodging + B-L-D),Our walk leads us through the trail uphill, on the Beautiful grassy path, depending upon the season, the trek is very pleasant as you reach the higher ground with magnificent view of an array of snow peaks all around you with Annapurna I, a great wall of a mountain from this northwest face.
  • Day 07 Trek from Himalayan Hotel to Macchepucchre Base Camp (3,700 M/12,139ft), 5-6 hrs, (Lodging + B-L-D),Today is the bit long day hike up to Machhapuchre base camp but we will forget all our pain because of the magnificent views of Annapurna range including Fishtail, Hinchuli, Gangapurna, Annapurna South, Annapurna I, II. We start our walk gently by ascending through thick bamboo, rhododendron and oak forest. We cross the small bridge on the Modi Khola and continue climbing up the wide and boulder scattered glacial valley. The Machhapuchhre looks very different now as the vegetation is sparse of mainly upland rhododendron. We cross Modi Khola once again and after following it for a while we start climbing up to Machhapuchhre Base camp. Overnight at teahouse and lodges.
  • Day 08Trek from Macchepucchre Base Camp to Annapurna Base Camp (4,130 M/ 13,549ft), 6-7 hrs, (Lodging + B-L-D),Today we start our trek early in the morning (around 4 AM) as we can see the breathtaking view of the sunrise from the Annapurna base camp. The path follows through the alpine forest. After a short trek, you begin to approach Annapurna Base Camp (4130m.). From here, you can see the panoramic views of several peaks which are all so clear. The views hereabouts will give you so clear pictures that will linger in your memories for as long as it takes.
  • Day 09 Trek back from Annapurna Base Camp to Bamboo (2310M/7,578ft), 6-7 hrs, (Lodging + B-L-D),From Annapurna Base Camp, we start our walk towards our next beautiful destination Bamboo. We start our walk in the beautiful Bamboo forest and enjoy the beauty of the trail. After six to seven hours of the walk along the amazing beauty of this trekking route, we reach to Bamboo. Stay overnight at teahouse and lodges.
  • Day 10Trek from Bamboo to Jhinu Dada (Hot Spring) (1,780M/5,839ft), 5-6 hrs, (Lodging + B-L-D),After having the early morning breakfast, we start our trek from Bamboo to Jhinu Dada. Jhinu Hot Spring is a famous attraction place where you can easily in the natural hot spring place. It takes about 30 m down from the Jhinu danda located on the bench of the Modi Khola. After taking the natural hot bath it supports to relief pain and tiredness of the trek. Stay overnight at available teahouse and lodges.

  • Day 11Trek from Jhinu Dada to Pothana (1,890 M/6,200ft), 6-7 hrs, (Lodging + B-L-D),Jhinu Danda is famous for Hot Spring where you can get a few nice lodges to spend a night. From here, we return back, in the same way, crosses the river and then gently ascends through tiny bamboo trees. The way is up and flat and continues along the road and crosses a small stream from where we take or follow the small walking trail through wheat and barley terraces.
  • Day 12 Trek from Pothana to Phedi (1,130 M/3,707ft), 3-4 hrs and drive back to Pokhara (820M/2,788ft), 1 hrs, (Lodging + B-L),The trail follows through the rhododendron forest before arriving Dhampus, it is inhabited by a mix of people: Gurung, Brahman, Magar communities. From here work down to mostly downhill through forest to Phedi from here 30 minutes drive to Pokhara.
  • Day 13Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu (1,350 M/4,429ft), 7-8 hrs or 25 minutes flight in option, (Lodging + B).Today is the end day of the trek. We say goodbye to the Himalayas of Annapurna and leave for Kathmandu. Fly or Drive to Kathmandu. We organize a farewell dinner with cultural programs.
